Researchers from Fesia Technology and Tecnalia present a scientific paper at CASEIB

Repeatability of calibration process of a multi-field FES device for compensation of foot drop

Due to the cooperation between Fesia Technology and Tecnalia, A. Martín, A. Aranguren and H. Zabaleta, researchers from Fesia Technology and E. Imatz-Ojanguren and T. Keller from Tecnalia, have published a scientific paper named “Repeatability of calibration process of a multi-field FES device for compensation of foot drop“.

The main aim of the research was to analyze the repeatability of a calibration algorithm of a multi-field technololgy-based FES device. To do so, 4 healthy subjects participated in the study, where different calibrations were held within the same day, different days and at different body postures. Results show that, in general, calibrations carried out within the same day were repeatable, whereas there was a high intra-subject variation with calibrations carried out in different days and with extended or flexed knee.

Such paper was submitted at CASEIB, the Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering, which was hold 27-29 November in Santander (Spain) and was organized by the University of Cantabria (UC) through the Applied Optical Techniques (TOA) group, the HUMV and the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering (SEIB).
